The deceased was a brother of A.L. Hubbell, of this city, and was universally esteemed. He was born in Rutland, Meigs county, Ohio, Nov. 9, 1817, making his age at the time of his death close on to 60 years. In 1834 he moved from Ohio to Elkart county, and has reided here ever since. He lived to see a fine family of children grow up to manhood and womanhood, five of whom, with the widow, survive him to mourn the taking away of an honored and loving husband and father. The children living are: Benjamin, William, Louis, Americus (Mack), Jennie (Mrs. Geo. N. Thomas) and Alferretta. The first child, Merrill, died, leaving one heir, Schuyler Hubbell. The funeral of this esteemed old citizen took place Sunday, and was largely attended by neighbors, and friends from this city. Rev. A.W. Lamport, pastor of the M.E. Church of Goshen, officiated at the funeral obsequies.
