Christian Miller was born May 18, 1861, at Burlington WI, died August 28, 1927, at St Paul MN, age 66 years, of bronchial pneumonia. He is survived by one brother, John H Miller, who resides at Tipler WI. As a young man he learned the trade of upholster, which occupation he followed for a number of yeas when he learned the barber trade. For a number of years he traveled for a barber supply concern. He married Mary Arth at St Paul where they lived for a number of years before coming to Terry in 1905, where Mr Miller opened a barber shop. He sold his shop in Terry to Emil Ebling about 1914 when he moved to his homestead about four miles west of Terry, following the occupation of farmer until after he was elected as assessor of Prairie county in 1922, which office he held two terms from 1922 to 1926, when he moved to town to live. He was deputy assessor under Assessor Sid Johnson at the time of his death.
On February 12, 1921, his mother, Henrietta Miller, died at Terry, aged 94 years. On March 23, 1927, his wife, Mary Arth MIller died at her home in Terry, age 67 years.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, September 1, 1927 at the Community church, Rev C I Meeker conducting the church service. The body was accompanied to the church and to the grave by members of Terry Lodge # 72, A F I& A M. The many floral tributes bespeak the high esteem and affection he was held in this community. A male quartette composed of D C Bradley Joseph Tope, Ray Hand and W J Burton, sang "Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me" and "Have Tine Own Way,Lord."
