Dorothy Opal Black, 57, of Springfield died at 10:55 p.m. Saturday at St. John's Hospital.
She was born in Springfield, the daughter of Robert and Tillie Wilkerson Perkins. Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold C. Black.
Mrs. Black was a member of Cathedral Church of St. Paul.
Surviving are three sons, Carl and Charles L. Henson, both of Springfield, Michael P. Henson of Atlanta, Ga.; two daughters, Sandra Kay Shaw of Chicago and Connie Sue English of Springfield; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Charles Perkins of Springfield; two sisters, Minnie Vespa and Betty Phillips, both of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bisch Memorial Home, with the Very Rev. Richard A. Pugliese officiating. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
