Robert de Knightley made a Will dated 1383/1384 which was proved in 1385 wherein he desired to be buried beside his father and mother in the Churchyard of Gnosall.



by a deed dated 1362 his brother Robert, son of Roger of Knightley, gave him his lands in Eyton, and by deed dated at Cotes 1376 he gave his cousin Thomas Cotes(son of his Aunt Alice) to the heirs of his body the capital messuage and lands in Cotes and in Charlton within the manor of Ecclesall, which he had of the gift of the said Thomas, with remainder to Robert, brother of the grantor Roger, and to John the son of the said Robert. He sealed with a shield of quarterly paly and ermine with a bend overall.
