They were the parents of two children.
Margaret C. Moreland was born in 1856 in Frederick County, Maryland. She was a resident of the District of Columbia for more than 50 years. She died at age 71 on Tuesday, April 12, 1927 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William W. Matchett, 3600 Thirteenth Street after an illness of two years. She was the widow of James B. Moreland, a prominent merchant who died in 1890. Survivors included one son, Arthur B. Moreland; one daughter, Mrs. William M. Matchett; three sisters: Mrs. Rosa Flater [Slater], Gertrude Rouzer and Isabelle Rouzer. Funeral services were held at the residence of Mrs. Matchett. Rev. Henry H. Ranck officiated. Interment was in Rock Creek Cemetery.
