ARMSTRONG, Iowa - Services for Olinda Weigelt, 87, of Armstrong will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at United Methodist Church, Armstrong, with Dr. Reverend Morris Weigelt and Pastor Todd Hartsock officiating. Burial will be in Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel, Armstrong.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be directed to the United Methodist Church in Armstrong.
Olinda Weigelt, the daughter of Robert and Dora (Aichle) Baumbach, was born June 28, 1922, in Hurdsfield, N.D., and departed this life on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at Valley Vue Care Center in Armstrong, Iowa, at the age of 87 years.
She received her education in country school near Hurdsfield, N.D.
On March 8, 1946, she was united in marriage to Theodore "Ted" Weigelt. The couple owned and operated a variety store in Holdingford, Minn. The couple then moved to Armstrong and owned a Variety Store in Armstrong for many years. Ted died in 1987.
Olinda was a member of United Methodist Church in Armstrong.
Left to cherish Olinda's memory are her children, Les Weigelt and his wife, Mary of Plymouth, Minn.; Wayne Weigelt and his wife, Lisa of Brandon, S.D.; Goldie Wiegelt of Fairmont, Minn.; three grandchildren, Lucas (Jennifer), Chad and Ashley Weigelt; two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Cullen Weigelt; brother and sister, Art Baumbach and Edith Patzer of Hurdsfield.
