Dies In Shiloh
John Andrew Moose, 75 year old retired textile worker and farmer, died Wednesday morning at 7:30 o'clock at his home on route 3, Statesville, the Shiloh community. He had been seriously ill for several days and had been in declining health for some time.
A native of this county, he was born October 9, 1875, son of Sa(i)milton Moose and Mrs. Mary Stewart Moose. He spent a good many years in Mooresville, working in the Mooresville Mills and about 10 years ago moved to the Shiloh community where he engaged in farming while his health permitted. He was married on July 31, 1895, to Miss Margaret Eades. His wife survives and five sons and four daughter; John and Archie Moose, Mrs. Mary Cline and Mrs. Macy Cook, all of Mooresville; Troy Moose of Catawba; Eugene Moose and Mrs. Sloan Stewart of route 6; Rome Moose at the home and Mrs. Tom Stewart of route 3. There are 42 grandchildren and _ great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Moose will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Mt. Bethel Baptist church and interment will be in the church burying ground. Rec. D. C. Thompson will conduct the service. The body will be removed from the Bunch Funeral home to the residence on route 3, sometime Thursday afternoon.
