Othillia "Tillie" Hanneman was the daughter of Gustav & Maria (Schimmer) Hanneman. Tillie was named after her mother's sister, Othilla Katharina Schimmer Gessner.
Tillie had 4 siblings, Christian A, William C, Evelyn M. (Dugall) and Charles M. The family grew up on Detroit's east side.
On 19 Aug 1920 Tillie married Lester Wm. Heck. The couple stayed on the east side of Detroit.
It is known that for awhile (1920-30) Tillie worked as an office clerk. Then Tillie had their only child, Lester William Heck, Jr.
After Tillie's husband died she stayed in her home for awhile. Eventually when more care was needed Tillie moved in with her son Les and his wife Marilyn.
When this poster visited Tillie just mere weeks before her death and 100th birthday she was bed ridden and smiled when I gave her a bouquet of flowers.
