Zelda Isabelle Anderson, 90, of Winner, SD passed away Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Winner Regional Healthcare Center.

Zelda was born June 29, 1916 near Butte, Nebraska to Charles Henry and Isabelle Marinda (Duncan) Crabtree. Zelda lived in the Spencer, Nebraska area until 1929 when the family moved near Witten, SD. She attended country school in Tripp County, finishing the eighth grade. As a young woman she worked as a hired hand in the hay fields, harvesting, milking cows and as a "Mother's Helper".

On June 8, 1941 she married the neighbor boy, William Wesley Anderson in the Methodist Church at Winner, SD. She lived in Winner her entire married life. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion; she was a Stanley Home Products dealer and District Area Manager from 1956 until she entered the Nursing Home in 1999.

She is survived by her daughters; Barbara Swedlund and Shirley Bettcher of Winner, SD and Vickie Marks of San Felipe, Baja, Mexico, and her son Wesley William Anderson of Flagstaff, AZ, four grandchildren; Kelly Swedlund of Winner, SD, Heather Spaulding of Bull Head City, AZ, Alexander Anderson and Christopher Kalas of Flagstaff, AZ and five great grand children, Kevin, Kyle and Kodi Swedlund of Winner, Jorden and Isabella Spaulding of Bull Head City, AZ, two sisters, Ila McKenzie of Onawa, Iowa and Norma (Vernon) Elsasser of Winner, SD, one brother Delbert (Alberta) Crabtree of Pierre, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband William, her parents Charles and Isabelle, four brothers: Lorie, Lyonell, Donald and Clayton, three sisters; Ethelda, Novella and Maxine; two sister-in-laws Dorothy and Lillian; two brother-in-laws Floyd McKenzie and Otto Manhalter; a baby daughter Janet Marie and granddaughter Teri Lynn.

Funeral services at the United Methodist Church in Winner. Burial will be in the Winner Cemetery.
