Mrs. Theresa Kochan, 94, of Whitelaw, died Sunday morning at Maple Crest Home, Whitelaw, where she had resided for 20 months.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. The Rev. Richard Heyman will officiate and burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Mrs. Kochan, nee Theresa Bernam, was born Jan. 10, 1878, at St. Nazianz, daughter of the late Frank and Anna Reith Bernam. She was married to August Kochan Sept. 27, 1898, at Athens, Wis. Her husband preceded her in death Jan. 13, 1948. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Christian Mothers Altar Society, 50-year member of St. Margaret's Court and the Catholic Order of Foresters of Athens.
Survivors include three sons, Walter, of Milwaukee, Myron, of Reedsville and Lawrence, of Whitelaw, a daughter, Mrs. William (Clara) Ewen, of Francis Creek; a brother, William, of Athens; a sister, Mrs. Anne Assman, of Mishicot; eight grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. Three brothers preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 o'clock this Monday afternoon where a prayer service will be held at 7 o'clock by the Christian Mothers Altar Society.
