WEIDENHAMMER - In Fritztown, on the 7th inst., Jacob Weidenhammer, aged 74, 3 months, and 7 days. The relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral, without further notice, from his late residence, in Fritztown, on Thursday forenoon at 8:30 o'clock, at the house, to proceed to Alsace Church. Services and interment at Alsace Church. Jacob operated a farm in Richmond Township for several years. This property was part of the approximately 270 acres in Richmond Township which Jacob's grandfather, George, had been given by Johannes Weidenhammer in 1796. Jacob's father, John, had farmed this land but it was divided and sold upon John's death in 1842 to support his minor children. Jacob purchased one part of this land - "Tract A" - containing 69 acres and 117 perches and valued at $3842. Jacob sold this land two years later (1844) In later years Jacob moved with his family to Reading where he made his home until his death.
