Jerry Lee Whitaker, 72, of Olney, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Burgin Manor in Olney.

Jerry was born August 11, 1943 in Olney, the son of Lee Verle and Waneda (Stevens) Whitaker.

He married Judith Elkins on September 25, 1965 in Olney.

Jerry graduated from East Richland High School in 1961. He was co-owner of a school supply store in Charleston before returning to Olney when he and his father operated a frozen pizza supply business. They then expanded and opened the Pizza Villa restaurant which they operated for several years.

Jerry was also a real estate broker and owned Whitaker and Associates Real Estate business. Jerry enjoyed most working with metal in his machine shop. His theory was, "Why buy it when you can make it yourself." When Jerry faced vision issues he still worked on his computer designing something new.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith Whitaker of Olney; sister-in-law and her husband, Connie and John Milholland of Frankfort, IN; brother-in-law and his wife, Jim and Margie Elkins of Olney; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
