Ruby Delores Ambrose, age 86, of Keymar, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at her home.
Born April 18, 1929 in Legore, she was the daughter of the late Keefer Gordon Eyler and Margie Viola Redman Eyler.
She was the wife of John H. Ambrose, who died in 1990.
Mrs. Ambrose was a lifetime member of Oak Hill Church of God, Legore. From a young age she was a housekeeper/nanny and continued for the rest of her life, being lovingly referred to as "Nanny" by many. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Surviving are two daughters, Lisa Ambrose and Michele Ambrose, both of Keymar; "adopted granddaughter", Britney Moser; sister, Teresa White of Emmitsburg; brothers, Robert and Terry Lee Eyler, both of Woodsboro and Jerry Eyler of Adamstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Barbara Eyler, Garnetta Abrecht, Doris Olinger, and Eloise Troxell; and brothers, Paul and Richard Eyler.
The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 404 S. Main St., Woodsboro on Sunday, Feb. 21 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb. 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Church of God, 10269 Oak Hill Road, Keymar, with Rev. Mark Ginter, church pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
