Graveside service for "Babs" Lewis, age 85, will be held 10:00 am, Saturday, February 27, 2016 at While Hall Cemetery, Haynesville, LA with Bro. Dave Acklin officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Haynesville, LA.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
"Babs" was born on January 6, 1931 to Robert and Iva Rogers in McNeil, AR and passed away February 24, 2016 in Shreveport. She raised her family in Haynesville and was a loved member of her community. She was known as the friendly face of the Dandy Sak, a convenience store that she and Doug owned for 21 years in Haynesville. But nothing gave her more joy than cooking and taking care of her loved ones. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Douglas Lewis; three children, Debbie Maynard of Shreveport, Marsha Johns and husband, Larry of Bossier City, Steve Lewis and wife, Connie of Haynesville: six grandchildren, Jill New, Cari Johns, Clint Maynard, Clay Johns, Tyler Lewis, and Sutton Lewis; six great grandchildren; three brothers, Elery Rogers, Jack Rogers and wife, Mary Jimmie, Noel Rogers and wife, Shirley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in her parents and sister, Carolyn Rogers.
Pallbearers will be Patrick New, Mike Anglin, Sean Disotell, Mike Speer, Nevada Watts, Charlie Estep, Dr. Eddie Anglin and Barry Anglin.
