"Jacob Root Dies at Shoeneck:
Jacob Root, 75, a resident of Lincoln, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs Adam Eberly of Schoeneck following a paralytic stroke sustained about two weeks prior to his death.
Mr Root and his wife were visiting their daughter when he was taken ill.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Rebecca (nee Edwards) and the following children: Mrs. Harry Gerhart, Reinholds Station; Henry, Mt. Airy; Mrs. Adam Eberly, Mrs. Adam Goshert, Schoeneck; Emanuel Root, Ephrata; Mrs. Joseph Phillips and John, of Lincoln. Three sisters, Mrs. Jonas Seachrist, Mrs. Thomas Spangler and Mrs. Samuel Seachrist all of Richland, Lebanon Co., also survive, as do four[sic] grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. The funeral was held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from the home of Joseph Phillips, Lincoln, with whom Mrs. Root resided, followed by services in Mellinger's Church, near Schoeneck, at 10:30 o'clock. Interment in the adjoining cemetery."
