Frances W. Starkey, 94, of Streator, died Thursday, May 21, at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the immaculate Conception Church in Streator with the monsignor James L. Morrissey officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Streator. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Elias Funeral Home in Streator. Prayer services will be Sunday at 6 p.m. at Elias Funeral Home.
Mrs. Starkey was born April 10, 1904, in Richland Township, to John and Susan (Pflibsen) Arenz. She married Joseph Starkey Sr. in 1936. He died Nov. 28, 1963. She was a member of the immaculate Conception Church in Streator.
She is survived by three sons, Roland (Nancy) Starkey of Florence, Ky., Joseph (Veronica) Starkey of Streator and George Starkey of Streator; one daughter, Karen (Darrell) Scarbeary of Streator; one sister, Cora (William) Wolf of Streator; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Carl, Ralph, Robert, Leonard, John and Arthur Arenz, all of the Streator area; two sisters, Mame Lavender of Ottawa and Louise Heider of Lostant; and one grandson, Douglas Starkey of Streator.
Pallbearers will be Ron, Randy, Jon, Daniel, George, Joe Jr. and Anthony Starkey and Joseph Scarbeary, all grandsons. Grandson Timothy Scarbeary will be an honorary pallbearer.
Memorials will be directed to the Immaculate Conception Church in Streator.
