LOSTANT - W. Ralph Arenz, 88, of Lostant, died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 1991 at St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, Leonore. The Rev. Charles McCarthy will officiate.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Mueller Funeral Home, Lostant, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Monday at the church. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday.

Born Aug. 1, 1902, in Richland Township, he was the son of John and Susan (Pflibsen) Arenz. He married Olga Wargo on March 1, 1927, at St. Stephen's Church, Streator. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lorraine (Mrs. James) Martin of Wenona; two grandchildren; a great granddaughter; brothers, Robert Arenz and Carl Arenz, both of Streator, and John Arenz of rural Streator; and sisters, Frances (Mrs. Joseph) Starkey of Streator and Cora (Mrs. William) Wolf of rural Streator.

He was preceded in death by a son, Vernon, two brothers and two sisters.

A member of St. Anthony Church, Streator, he managed Milla Grain Company for 17 years. He owned and operated Lostant Grain Company from 1945 until his retirement in 1965. Mayor of Lostant for 12 years, he served four years on the village board and on La Salle County Tuberculosis board from 1969 to 1979 and served as president from 1972 to 1976.
