My Grandfather married Della Docia Hart on December 1,1901, and they had 3 sons: Addis,Eddie and Jack Mathews. Two daughters: Codie and Virgie Mathews Hartzog. My grandparents lived in Jackson County,Florida. They had several grandchildren in the years following.
My Daddy,Jack Mathews,was stationed in Colorado when my Grandfather passed away. The Army personnel would not tell my Daddy at first,because he was sick with the mumps. After my Daddy recovered, he got a pass and went to see his Mother.
