Patrick Houy, 74, of Clairton, died after a courageous battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia on Monday, July 4, 2016, at Arden Courts, Jefferson Hills. He was born March 17, 1942, in Clairton, a son of the late Paul Theodore Houy and Anna (McConeghy) Houy. He was the senior mechanical inspector for Quality Control for Bombardier (formerly Westinghouse), until his retirement after 43 years of service. He was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church, Clairton, and an Air Force veteran. Proud of his Irish heritage, he was born on St. Patrick's Day, so no one could forget his birthday. He was an avid runner and eventual daily power walker who exercised, no matter what the weather, for 30 years. He was a passionate Penguins fan, racecar enthusiast and collector of lighthouses, elephants and Irish memorabilia. He was a devoted family man and a generous and loving dad and pap pap. He will be missed by his devoted and beloved canine companion, Cinco. Survivors include his daughters, Beth Ann (Keith) Houy, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Rebecca Ann (Edward) Reynolds, of Moon Township; son, Patrick A. (Vickie Naccarato) Houy, of Clairton; six grandchildren, Brandon and Christopher Houy and Edward III, Abigail, Ethan and Eli Reynolds; four step-grandchildren, George III, Ryan and Matthew Andrisko and Noah Naccarato; step-great-granddaughter, Skyler Andrisko; sisters, Betty Zapko, of Aliquippa, and Mary Lou Bernhardy, of East McKeesport; brother, James Houy, of Munhall; former wife and caregiver, Mary Lou Houy, of Clairton; sister-in-law, Kathy Houy, of Dravosburg; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Melodie Andrisko; and brother, Ken Houy.

Visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at A.J. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 555 Fifth St., Clairton, PA 15025, 412-233-5700, where a funeral service will be held at noon Friday, July 8, 2016, with the Rev. Michael Airgood.

Burial in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
