She was born on June 17, 1933 in Elwood, Indiana.
She worked as a clerk at Leeson’s Department Store in Elwood for several years, and also formerly worked for Dr. Buechler and Indiana Bell Telephone Company in Elwood. She was a 1952 graduate of Frankton High School. She was a member of the Elwood Card Club, and enjoyed knitting, painting, cooking, crosswords, and fishing.
Survivors include: 2 Daughters – Carol and husband Jeff Ball of Elwood, and Diana Wright of Elwood; Brother – Don Hill of Elwood; 2 Sisters - Irene Wantland of Kokomo and Mary Ervin of Kokomo, 5 Grandchildren – Nicole and husband Shawn Parker, Jeremy Ball, Lisa Ball, Aimee Wright, and Benjamin Wright; and 2 Great-Grandchildren – Isabelle Parker and Elijah Parker.
She was preceded in death by her Parents – Osa Pearl Hill and John and Inez Hayward; Husband whom she married April 10, 1953 and who died July 18, 2007 – Harold McElfresh, Jr., and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with Rev. Tim Stigers of Southern Care Hospice officiating. Burial will take place in the Elwood City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home.
