Estelle Herndon Basford, 89, of Niceville, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Pensacola. She was born in Clarksville, to the late John and Trudie Stewart and was raised in the Carr Community and attended Frink School where she played basketball. She moved to Niceville in 1952 where she became a member of the Pine Lake Church of Christ and over the years worked as a dental assistant, banking and also in the school lunchroom.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998, Ellis Basford; two brothers, William and John Herndon; three sisters, Maebell Bradley, Catherine Lassiter and Gwen Watford.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Basford and his wife, Vicky of Wimauma and Patrick Glenn Basford and his wife, Brenda of Pensacola; one daughter, Beth Basford Hart and her husband, Van of Crestview; one brother, Virgil Herndon of Clarksville; two sisters, Iona Tharpe of Clarksville and Ruth Alford of Blountstown; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Services will be held Saturday, June 21 at 1 p.m. (CT) at Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Reverend Phillip Box officiating. Interment will follow in Bailey Cemetery near Clarksville.
