Donald Spencer Barnum age 80 of Howard City left this earth peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2016 to add his lively sense of humor to those who have gone before him. Some may think he timed it so he would not have to vote in the upcoming Presidential Election. He was born March 22, 1936 in Howard City to Lewis and Hester Barnum. He had 5 brothers and 7 sisters. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie (Poumade) Barnum in 1984; second wife, Freda (Lewis) Barnum in 2003; daughter, Karen Yanke in 2008. He is survived by his children, Sandy Rollins, Donald Lewis Barnum, Ken and Lisa Barnum; grandchildren, Jeff and Sara Yanke, Jamalyn and LeaAnn Yanke, Jason Yanke, Justin and Sara Yanke, Stacey and Justin Reynolds, Alana Anderson, Spencer Rollins, Chance Rollins, Amanda Barnum, Ashley Barnum, Allison Barnum; great grandchildren, Makenna Barnum, Savanah Reynolds, Jordan Reynolds, Nathan Yanke, Natalie Yanke, Amelia Yanke, Justin Yanke, Charlie Yanke; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 1:00 P.M. at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Chapel with Rev. Bruce Kalish officiating. Interment in The Grand Rapids Home for Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors under the Auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family at the G.R. Home for Veterans on Thursday from 12 noon until time of service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to assist the family with unexpected medical expenses.
