Helen L. Eklund, 86, died Sat., June 17, 2006, in Rosewood Care Center. Born Sept. 5, 1919, in Durand, daughter of Orvin E. and Laura G. (Recoy) Brinker. Married to the late Floyd G. Eklund on June 16, 1937. Worked as a cook for Stockholm Inn and for Hostess House, retiring in 1984. Helen was a member of First Evangelical Free Church. She truly enjoyed traveling and fishing up at the lake, where they called her "Walleye Annie."
Survivors include her children, Bruce (Paula), Gary (Sharon) Eklund and Brenda (Anthony) Oresteen; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Wally) Bleed and Margaret (Roy) Johnson; brother, Richard (Gloria) Brinker. She was predeceased in death by her parents; husband, Floyd in 1990; sister Verda Rosene; and brother, Raymond Brinker.
