Margaret L. Johnson, age 90, of Rockford, IL died at 3:01 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, in SwedishAmerican Hospital.

Born Feb. 3, 1922, in Durand, IL daughter of Orvin and Laura (nee Recoy) Brinker. Graduate of Rockford Central High School class of 1940. She married Roy G. Johnson on Nov. 27, 1942, in St. Louis; he died Feb. 26, 2007. Margaret worked for Amerock Corporation, and later worked in the kitchen at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center. She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church, where she participated in the Geetsing Circle.

She is survived by children, Barbara (Ron) Herbig of Rockford, Rick (Donna) Johnson of Phoenix, AZ and Robert (Rayean) Johnson of Rockton; grandsons, Jay (Dawn), Brian (Yuka), Ben, Geoffrey, Andrew, Jason (Susan), and Randy; great-grandchildren, Lily, Declan, Maia, Lina, Riley, Sophia, Kelsey, Kayla and Zachary; and brother, Richard (Gloria) Brinker.

Also predeceased by daughter, Sue Schenck; son-in-law, Jon Schenck; sisters, Verda Rosene, Helen Ecklund and Doris Bleed; and brother, Ray Brinker.

Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, in First Evangelical Free Church, 2223 N. Mulford Road, with Pastor Jim Rosene officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday before the service in the church.
