Verda R. Rosene, 79, Rockford, died Wed., May 6, in Nelson-Debes Subacute Complex after a long illness of cancer. Born July 28, 1918, in Freeport, the daughter of Orvin and Laura Recoy Brinker. Married Donald A. Rosene in Rockford on Sept. 15, 1939. She was a homemaker. Member of First Evangelical Free Church, Fairhaven Circle, King's Daughters' class and active in other church programs. She also was very active in her children's and grandchildren's lives.
Survivors include husband, Donald; children, Marilyn A. (Jerry) Knuth and Rev. Jim E. (Denise) Rosene, Donald R. Rosene, Rev. David K. (Paula) Rosene and Marlene K. (Robert) Wilson; eight grandchildren; sisters, Helen Eklund, Doris (Wally) Bleed and Margaret (Roy) Johnson; brother, Richard (Gloria) Brinker. Predeceased by brother, Raymond Brinker.
