OBITUARY #1

MISS SARAH ANDREWS
Death at Ilion Hospital Bring Regret

Frankfort, Jan. 5 – At the Ilion Hospital yesterday about 11 o'clock occurred the death of Miss Sarah Andrews. She was taken to the hospital about two weeks ago, where a double operation, gallstones and appendicitis, was performed. The operation was a very successful one, but the patient did not seem to have the vitality to rally from the illness. Miss Andrews came here from Guilderland at the time of the death of her Brother William's wife, to take charge of his home. She was 66 years of age and was of Scotch descent. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Guilderland and a lady of strong Christian character, a staunch friend and ever ready to lend a helping hand to any who needed.

She is survived by three brothers, William of this village, David and John Andrews of Guilderland, and three sisters, Mrs. Hadley of Southbridge, Mass., Mrs. Cramer and Mrs. Jennie Andrews of Guilderland.

The body will be taken tomorrow morning at 6:45 to Guilderland, where the funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon. Friends wishing to do so may call this afternoon and evening at the home of the brother, 314 Fourth Avenue. [From Utica Herald-Dispatch, Utica, NY – January 5, 2011, pg. #14]
