Genevieve R. Hussey, 94, of Lake Mary, Florida passed away Wednesday (December 16, 2015) in Oakmont Village, Sienna Memory Care Unit, Lake Mary, Florida.
She was born March 2, 1921 in the Town of Conewango, Cattaraugus County, the daughter of the late Harold and Elva Barhite Rhoades.
Genevieve was a 1938 graduate of Ellington High School and 1940 graduate of Jamestown Business College. In earlier years she was employed by Tayco Company in Jamestown and prior to retirement in 1981 was employed by Simpson Timber Company, Seattle, WA for 27 years.
She was a member of Longwood Hill Congregational Church, Longwood, Florida.
Surviving are her daughter Sandra (Dale) Tonger of Longwood, Florida; two grandchildren: Dawn (Heath) Short of Longwood, FL, Amy (Robert) Beall of Longwood, FL; four great grandchildren: Rachael Anderson, Ryan Short, Haley Beall and Taylor Beall and a sister Sharon Smith of Randolph.
She was preceded in death by her husband Roger H. Hussey whom she married June 1, 1940 in the Town of Conewango, NY, who died January 9, 2012; a brother Raymond Rhoades and a sister Glendine Rhoades.
The funeral will be at 2p.m. Tuesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. Rev. Donald E. Ray will officiate. Burial will be in Levant Cemetery, Falconer.
Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday in the funeral home.
