Passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Covenant Medical Center-Copper. Age 85 years. Colleen Mary Kane was born on September 6, 1931, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to the late Cornelius and Gertrude (Donovan) Kane.
She was married to Donald B. Potter on June 5, 1954, in Gulfport, Miss. He predeceased her on August 19, 2016.
Prior to her retirement, Colleen was employed as a cashier / biller at Saint Mary’s Hospital. She was a member of the Sts. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, Birch Run. Colleen’s hobbies included riding her bike while she was able to, but her joy was her time spent with her loving grandchildren.
Surviving are her children and their spouses, David (Dana) Potter; Bob (Cindy) Potter; Tim Potter; John Potter; Diane Otte, and Laurie (Ron) Boyke; the most important things in her life were her grandchildren, Kelsey, Nikole, Allison, Madison, Stephanie, Shannon, Erin, Cory, Kelly, and Amy; her sister, Eleanor Patterson and her sisters-in-law, Joann Goslin and Shirley Irish; several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers, Sam and Don Kane; and her sister, Ellen Westfall.
Funeral Liturgy will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Sts. Francis and Clare Catholic Church, 12157 Church St., Birch Run, MI. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara will officiate. Private family burial will follow later at the Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
