A homemaker, Sara had worked for RCA and Roy Rogers restaurants.
She was a member of West Shore Brethren in Christ Church.
Sara loved her family, had a special affinity for her grandchildren, and was in her glory hosting family gatherings. Her interests included gardening, antiques and birdwatching.
Born in New Providence, she was the daughter of the late Marlin and Edna (Summers) Trout. In addition to Nelson, Sara is survived by two sons, Randall married to Robin Sears of Enola and Russell married to Carol Sears of Lititz; five grandchildren, Robyn married to Joe Blauberg, Valerie, Angela, Amy and Katrina Sears; three brothers, Victor, Dale and Donald Trout and a sister, Rhonda Wiker. Sara was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Racine, and five siblings.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 12 Noon until 1 PM in the Bachman Funeral Home, 7 South Decatur Street, Strasburg, PA The funeral is 1:00 PM with The Reverend Dr. Robert Verno officiating. Interment will follow in Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery.
