Dorothy C. Rhoades
Dorothy C. Rhoades, 76, of 3620 Orkney Road, Apt. C., Mountville, died on Friday, May 12, 2006 at Lancaster Regional Medical Center of natural causes. She was the wife of the late Harold W. Rhoades who died on March 21, 1995.
She was born in Paradise, daughter of the late Marlin and Edna Summers Trout. She was a housekeeper for Treadway Inn and also worked as a seamstress for Scilly Silk Mills before her retirement. She was a member of the Mountville Church of the Brethren. She was a scout master and den mother for Cub Scout Pack 145, Lancaster. She enjoyed crocheting, crossword puzzles, and bingo.
She is survived by two sons, Timothy W. Rhoades, Mountville, and Michael A. Rhoades, New Holland; three daughters, Donna M., married to Victor Ressler, Lancaster, Linda K., wife of the late Parke B. Harnish, Jr., Mountville, and Deborah A., married to Jerrold M. Hall, Lancaster; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Victor K., married to Lynne Trout, Paradise, Donald, married to Ruth Trout, New Holland, and Dale F. Trout, Mountville; two sisters, Sara, married to Nelson Sears, Millersville, and Rhonda Wiker, Quarryville. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service will be held at Mountville Church of the Brethren, 60 Clay Street, Mountville, PA 17554 on Thursday, May 18 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul D. Steiner, officiating. Interment in Georgetown United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please omit flowers.
