Marion Leroy Allgire, age 69, of Stryker passed away Tuesday June 8, 2010 in his home following an extended illness. Prior to his retirement he had worked for LaChoy Foods in Archbold, Campbell Soup Company in Napoleon, the former Dinner Bell Foods in Archbold for 30 years and Sauder Woodworking for 15 years. Along with his wife, Pat, he owned and operated the Townhouse in Archbold from 1983-1998.
Mr. Allgire was born in Defiance, Ohio on July 2, 1940 the son of the late Emerson and the late LaMoille (Cox) Allgire. On December 10, 1982 he married Pat (Friley) (McCord) and she survives. Mr. Allgire was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Defiance where he served as a Trustee and was a member of the Property Committee. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Montpelier, he was a former member of the Williams County Sheriffs Posse, and a Volunteer for Lifeline at the Defiance County Regional Medical Center.
Surviving besides his wife, Pat, are two daughters; Julie (Bill) Myers of Bryan, Stephanie (Ron) Cibart of Redding, CA, three step-daughters; Lee (Ed) Schnitkey of Ridgeville Corners, Dee Franks of Toledo and Penny (Mike) Roth of Sylvania. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, Brother; Ron (Connie) Allgire of Defiance, Sister; Linda Wagner of Defiance and former wife; Gerry (Puckett) Jackman. Preceding him in death was son Andrew Allgire.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday June 12, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Defiance with Pastor David Tilly officiating.
