CAMDEN – Funeral service for Janice Sue Shirley, 85, will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Christian Outreach Church with burial to follow in Wateree Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Richard Cameron and the Rev. Derrick Proctor will officiate. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, Lugoff. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Mrs. Shirley, wife of the late Albertus Shirley passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. Born in Camden, she was the daughter of the late Alton and Emma Young Hasty. She was a member of Hermitage Baptist Church and attended New Life Christian Outreach Church. Mrs. Shirley was a beautician and enjoyed crocheting, shopping and camping. Her biggest hobby was looking for a bargain and many hours were spent over the years with one of her dearest friend Sara Spears shopping for these bargains together.

Surviving are her sons, Timothy Shirley (Ashley) of Garden City, and Keith Shirley (Patricia) of Camden; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters, Janie Madalyn McCabe, Annie Kathryn Stalvey, Edna Elizabeth Schmitt, and brother, James Alton Hasty Jr.
