Mr. Farque was a native of the Lake Charles area. He had been employed with Oilquip Inc. for over 12 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Welsh where he served as a lay minister and also on the Board of Trustees.
Mr. Farque was also a member of the Welsh Volunteer Fire Department for 10 years. He was an avid LSU Tiger fan and also had a love for camping, working in the yard, and especially spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Farque is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lisa LeBlanc Farque of Iowa; three daughters, Melonie Jackson, Monica Kern and husband Johnny, all of Moore, OK and Sara Catherine Farque of Iowa; one son, Brett Wendal Farque of Iowa; five sisters, Barbara Manuel of Starks, Mabel Dehart and husband Billy of DeRidder, Brenda Foy of Vinton, Gloria Young and husband Don of Ragley and Charlotte Foy and husband Bobby of Sulphur; five brothers, James Farque Jr. and wife Elaine of DeRidder, Allen “Richard” Farque and wife Sue of Moss Bluff, Joe Farque and wife Rita of Westlake, Rickie Farque and wife Carrie of Sulphur, and his twin brother David Farque and wife Janet of Ragley; one granddaughter, Alexus Kern of Moore, Okla.; his father-inlaw, John LeBlanc and his mother-in-law, Ingrid LeBlanc, both of Welsh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Farque Sr.; mother, Rose Fruge Farque; sister, Kathy Johnston; and nephew, Joey Farque.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, in First United Methodist Church in Welsh.The Rev. Charles Crews will officiate. Burial will be in LeBlanc Cemetery in LeBlanc, La. Visitation is 1-9 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services at the church.
