Marilyn Grace Massman was born on June 11, 1931, daughter of the late Paul and Catherine (Denor) Massman. She was raised in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1949. She worked at Mirro Co. until she met and married Arthur Schmatz on September 11, 1954. She was a housewife and ultimately worked with Art at their business, Quality Service Oil Co, until the time of his retirement. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and loved feeding her family and friends. She loved animals, especially her dogs and granddogs.
Marilyn is survived by her four children, by her greatest loves, her grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother-in law and four sisters-in-law.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur on April 6, 2014 and her son, Michael Schmatz, on November 25, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents Paul and Catherine (Denor) Massman and her in-laws, Joseph and Mary (Schiesl) Schmatz, her sister and her husband, Dorothy and Melvin Luckow, her brother, Norman Massman, brother-in-law Raymond Musial, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law James and Marion (Schmatz) Dhein.
Any memorials should be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society or Wisconsin Humane Society, or the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the staff at Libby’s House in Chilton, especially Julie and Deborah who have been there from the beginning and Serenity Hospice for their kind and loving care of Marilyn.
