Catherine Eva Massman, age 94, formerly of 710 S. 35th St., Manitowoc, died Thursday afternoon, June 17, 1999, at River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 21, 1999, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
She was born April 19, 1905, in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Peter J. and Catherine Wagner Denor. She married Paul T. Massman on June 27, 1923, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Kellnersville. He preceded her in death on September 20, 1997. The couple celebrated 74 years of marriage together. Catherine was employed at Roorbach's Flowers in Manitowoc for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the St. Mary's Rosary and Altar Society.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Norman and Lorraine Massman; two daughters and one son-in-law, Marilyn and Art Schmatz, Dorothy Luckow, all of Manitowoc; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur and Liz Denor, Denmark, John and Bernice Denor, Whitelaw; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Clara and Adolph Raschke, Brillion, Viola and Robert Belinske, Denmark; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Liz Massman, Rockwood; three sisters-in-law, Genevieve Denor, Rosella Denor, and Ann Denor; one brother-in-law, Michael Mangin; eight grandchildren, Amy Rappel and her husband, Tom, David Luckow and his wife, Ellen, Paul Massman, Mark Schmatz, Kelly Schmatz, Mike Schmatz, Karen Wagner and her husband Terry, Maria Viegut and her husband, Dan; ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one son-in-law, Melvin Luckow; one grandson, Michael Luckow; five brothers, Peter, Edward, Herbert, Joseph, Raymond Denor; two sisters, Lillian Mangin and Rose Bender.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening visitation.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Catherine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
