76, of Oakdale, passed away Sunday, the 16th of August 2015. He was born in San Ysidro, New Mexico to the late Clemente Rivera, Sr. and Elisaida Rivera, both of Modesto.
Roland was a proud member of the Oakdale High School Class of 1957 and served as a postal clerk in the US Navy for four years. He was a local truck driver for 37 years before he retired in 1998.
Roland is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rose Rivera, his daughter, Ann Rivera Johnson, his son-in-law, Andrew P. Johnson and his three precious grandchildren: Frankie, Marie and Audrey, of Berkeley, California. He is also survived by his 3 brothers: Mike Rivera of Waterford, Carlo Rivera of Escalon and Phil Rivera of Valley Springs, his two sisters: Gloriana Schad and Marie Rivera both of Sacramento, his cherished nieces and nephews and many dear friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by four sisters: Doris Wright, Josephine Leal, Francis Lett and Lorie Rivera, and three brothers: Tony Rivera, Clem Rivera, Jr., and Romeo Rivera. A memorial service will be held in his honor at 10am on Friday, August 28, 2015 at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel with a reception at the Oakdale Sportsman Club immediately following. He will be greatly missed.
