Fairfield - Winship, Alta E., 83, died at Choteau Tuesday. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairfield. She was born in Ardale, Iowa. She moved with her parents to Linton, N.D. in 1905. In 1914 they moved to Outlook and in 1916 to Wolf Point. She was married Sept. 9, 1920 at Havre to Marshall E. Winship. They made their home in Wolf Point and in 1941 moved to Sunnyslope community west of Fairfield, where they farmed. They retired in 1972 and moved to Fairfield. From 1957 to 1968 she was a cook at the Golden Ridge School in Sunnyslope. Her husband died June 9. Surviving are two sons, Wallace of Vaughn and Dale of Fairfield; one daughter, Mrs. George P. (Dorothy) Jahnke of Augusta; one brother, Montie Montana of Aqua Dulce, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
