VANCEBURG — Mary Pruitt Liles, 93, of Vanceburg died Oct. 4 at her residence.
She was born Dec. 13, 1914, in Greenup County to the late Hiram and Minnie Staggs Pruitt. She married Vernon Chester Liles, who died Aug. 2, 1975. They were married 40 years.
A wife and homemaker, she was a member of the Lewis County Senior Citizens Association and attended Bivens Chapel Christian Holiness Church for many years. She was currently a member of Hilltop Tabernacle Church.
She is survived by sons, Vernon (Phyllis) Liles Jr. of Vanceburg, and James H. (Debra) Liles of White Bluff, Tenn.; daughter, Frieda (Dorse) Underwood of Garrison; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and a sister.
Services are at 1 p.m., today at Dickerson Funeral Home, Vanceburg. Visitation was Sunday and 8 a.m. to the time of services today at Dickerson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Waring Cemetery, Garrison.
