In 1953, she married Franklin O. Berg, Sr. and together they had six beautiful children while living in North Dakota and Montana. In 1972, she married her second husband, T.M. Stegall and the family moved to the Grand Coulee, WA area and also lived in Kennewick before moving to Prosser in 1976. In 1992, after her husband’s retirement, they moved to Boardman and then Hermiston, OR where she resided until her death.
Truly in her element as the matriarch of an enormous brood of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Inez was a wonderful cook, always the hostess for family get-togethers where enough food for an army was prepared; family gatherings were not complete without her famous buns and caramel rolls. She and T.M. spent many winters travelling to Arizona and Mexico in their RV. Inez also enjoyed spending time in her flowerbeds and garden, playing pinochle, quilting and crafts, canning and traveling to casinos. Another of her joys was watching polka and country music shows on Saturday night RFD-TV.
Inez is survived by her six children: Corlotta Berg of Hermiston, OR; Franklin, Jr. (Carol) Berg of Salem, OR; Mark (Darlene) Berg of Prosser, WA; Daniel (Vickie) Berg of Prosser, WA; Susan Troth of Lincoln, CA; and David (Rhonda) Berg of Moses Lake, WA; as well as 18 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband T.M.; sisters: Martha and Elsie; and brothers: Rienhold, Ruben and Edwin.
A service to celebrate Inez’s life will was held at Prosser Funeral Home. You may leave a message for the family at www.prosserfuneralhome.com.
