Blacksmith Succumbs of Blood Poisoning

LOGAN - Irvine Jacobsen, 48, Logan blacksmith, died late Tuesday afternoon of blood poisoning after a 10-day illness. Mr. Jackosen suffered a scratch November 13 while killing a hog which later developed into blood poisoning.

Mr. Jacobsen was born here January 7, 1887, the son of Isriel P. and Driscilla Hendricks Jacobsen. He had lived in Logan all of his life, operating a blacksmith shop on South Main street with is brother. He married Gurnell Checketts, who, with three sons and one daughter; Sylvia, Darrell, and Gayle Jacobsen and Mrs. Norma Barfus, Logan, survive.

Nine brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. Luther Vereen, Mrs. Kenneth Calder, and Vern Jacobsen, Logan; Julius Jacobsen, Salt Lake City; Mrs. F.C. Goodwin, Fresno, Cal.; Mrs. C.C. Williams and Mrs. V.C. Prather, San Francisco; Mrs. A.A. Baird, San Jose, Cal., and Mrs. J.L Cartwright, Visalia, Cal.

Funeral arrangements are being made by the Lindquist & Sons mortuary.
