Rae Taylor Felt Sherwood, former Utah resident, died at the Hoag Memorial Hospital at Newport Beach, Calif., Tuesday morning following complications of a progressive malignancy.
Mrs. Sherwood was born in Salt Lake City July 28, 1895. Her schooling was in Provo City Schools and the Brigham Young University. At the completion of her school work she taught school at Ibapah, Utah.
It was at Ibapah she met Clarence R. Felt and they were married in the Salt Lake City Temple in June 1914. Their married life was in Ibapah and Gooding, Ida., and then to Inglewood, Calif. where Mr. Felt died in 1930.
In November 1944, she married Clifford A. Sherwood and has since made her home in Costa Mesa, Calif., where she has been active in civic work and with the local gardening clubs.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford A., Sherwood, Costa Mesa, Calif.; two sons, Taylor C. Felt of Tarzana, Calif., and Gale M. Felt of Costa Mesa, Calif., and eight grandchildren; six brothers and sisters; Mrs. Ruth T. Williams, Provo; Mrs. Ferris W. (Lillian) Hoover, Provo Canyon; Raymond W. Taylor, Provo; Mrs. Ed T. (Deli) King, Los Angeles; Samuel W. Taylor, Redwood City; and Paul W. Taylor, Provo.
Funeral services will be held at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 E. 700 S. in Salt Lake City, Saturday, June 20, with Mrs. Edith Y. Booth as the speaker. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Mrs. Sherwood made a request that no flowers be sent to the services but that friends make any contributions to the Cancer Fund.
