Mr. Schnarr was a logger and trapper by trade, who lived on the Bute Inlet on Quadra Ialand. He was the eldest son of August and Hannah (Pruner) Koerber Schnarr of Lewis County, WA. He was married on January 5, 1922 in British Columbia to Zaida May Lansell. August and Zaida had three daughters: Pansy, Pearl, and Marion. Growing up August's family raised wild cats. He continued the tradition, raising them with his girls too.
