Mrs. George Cadawalader died of cancer at the home of her sister, Mrs. Joseph Howey, March 2, 1895. Wife of George Cadwalader, at the age of 68 years, three months, 20 days. Susanna Farver was born in Columbia County, PA 09 Nov 1826. In 1844 was united in marriage to Johnston Piatt, who died in 1858. Three children were the result of this marriage, only one of whom survives. Some years later, she married George Cadwalader and removed to Kearney, KS, which has been their home, and where their only child (a daughter) now resides.
Last September, they came to Ashton to visit when she was taken sick and was never able to return home. For the last three months of her life, she suffered great pain. She was the oldest of thirteen children, eleven of whom still survive her. The funeral services were held Sunday morning at the home of Rev ML Morris of the ME Church officiating, and was largely attended. The stricken relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.
