James was the beloved son of Edward Nathaniel Edens and Enolia T. Edens. His parents were married in 1888. His siblings were Luther T. born in 1889; Lulla B. born in 1891; Leolo M. born in 1892; John E. born in 1897; Allen W. born in 1902 and William H. born in 1905. He was the husband of Lola May Jackson Edens and father of the late
Jerry Wendell Edens, Sr.; Barbara 'Bobbie' Jean Edens'; the late Edna Faye Edens Howard; and James 'Jimmy' Nathaniel Edens, Jr. He died of a stroke.
