Mrs. Edna Faye Edens Howard, 74, passed away on February 28, 2005, at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond, Virginia, with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ray Howard, her parents, James Nathaniel Edens and Lola May Jackson Edens and her brother, Jerry Wendell Edens, Sr. . Mrs. Howard is survived by her son, Ray Howard, wife Barbara, and their children, Anna and Will of Richmond, VA; her daughter, Kim Verney, husband Ron, and their son Ryan, all of Soldotna, Alaska; sister, Barbara 'Bobbie' Jean Edens and brother James Nathaniel 'Jimmy' Edens, Jr., both of Scotts Hill, NC. She was also survived and beloved by a large extended family in the Scotts Hill area. Upon retiring after 29 years of employment with Dr. Gerald Points, she enjoyed traveling between Virginia and Alaska visiting her family whom she dearly loved. Mrs. Howard was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 372 of Wilmington. She was also a champion bridge player of approximately 40 years belonging to 2 bridge clubs in the Wilmington area.
