Dan Deegan Killed In Auto Accident
Hinsdale, Dec. 31--The funeral of Dan Deegan, son of James Deegan, Valley county pioneer, was held at Hinsdale Wednesday. Mr. Deegan was killed in an automobile accident while returning to his farm at Assinniboia, Sask. Mr. Deegan is survived by his wife and 19-year-old son, by his mother, Mrs. James Deegan of Glasgow and Frazer, and by several brothers and sisters in Valley county and Washington.
Mr. Deegan was buried beside his father, who died some years ago. The elder Deegan had been a Hudson's Bay company freighter in pre-railroad days in the northwest, Indian trader and railroad builder, and was the first sheriff of Valley county following its organization in 1892.
