IRON RIVER -- Theresa Cascioli, 92, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Iron River Care Center.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1919 in Iron River, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Rosetti) Bigari. She graduated from Iron River High School in 1937. Theresa married Bruno Cascioli on Sept. 26, 1940 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River.
Theresa lived her life for her family. Baking and cooking were her passion. She made wonderful homemade hot lunches for St. Agnes School and the West Iron County School System. After her retirement in 1990, at age 70, she was actively involved at the Iron River Senior Center.
Theresa was a member of the St. Agnes Church, St. Agnes Altar Society and the Italian Ladies Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances (John) Luther of Stoughton, Wis. and her son, Robert (Jo Ann) Cascioli of Oconomowoc, Wis.; her brothers; Ernest (Helen) Bigari of Iron River and Eugene (Sue) Bigari of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Bruno Cascioli; her parents, Albert and Mary Bigari; and her brothers, Louis and Alfred Bigari.
Visitation was held May 21 at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
Funeral services followed at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Iron River with Rev. Gregory Veneklase offering the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of the Italian Ladies Society formed an Honor Guard at the service.
Interment was in the Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River.
Funeral arrangements are by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
