IRON RIVER-Louis Bigari, a well-known local businessman, died Thursday, Dec. 4 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, Wis.
He died of injuries suffered in a fall at his home Dec. 2. health officials said. He was 68.
A lifelong resident of the area, Bigari and his wife, the former Alba Angeli, owned and operated the Iron Inn, a downtown landmark business. In partnership with Thomas and Eleanore Angeli, the couple purchased the hotel-restaurant in 1957, then became sole owners in 1965.
Bigari was a member of several community organizations and in 1979 was named Iron County Businessman of the Year.
