NEWS ARTICLE Iron River Reporter April 4 1960 "Povolo New Caspian Fire Chief's Aide"
CASPIAN-All officers save one were reelected by the Caspian Volunteer Fireman at an annual meeting of their department held last week in the city hall.
Adam Zorzin was reelected chief of the department.
Chester Povolo is the new officer. He was named assistant chief to succeed Rocco Bellantonio.
Others reelected are: Capt. Leo Remondini, Lieutenants Alfred Bigari and Reno Ghiotto, and Arthur Masnova, secretary-treasurer.

CASPIAN-Three candidates for Caspian city office have filed nominating petitions with City Clerk Charles Kruzich with the filing deadline set at February 2.
Steve Shepich, retired street commissioner, is a candidate for the office now held by Mayor Arnold Paul. Alfred Bigari, a frequent candidate for commissioner, has filed again.

Mine rescue training classes were held on June 11, 12 and 13, 1951 at the Hiawatha Mine Rescue station. The course consisted of instruction in the care and use of rescue apparatus, wearing of the apparatus in smoke conditions, and while undergoing heavy physical exertion. The following men participated:
Homer Mine: George Gehloff [Gehlhoff], Zigmund Wodzinski, W.H. Smith, Herman Contardi, Joe Zera, Jr., Wallace Johnson, Evert Strom, Verner Risberg, Glenn Johnson, Manch Applin, Herman Kapla and Alfred Bigari.

OBITUARY of Theresa Cascioli 2012 (buried Resthaven) says Alfred Bigari was her brother.
