Mrs. Sallie Case, 88, died yesterday morning at 6 at Asotin County Memorial hospital. She suffered a broken hip in a fall at her home Oct. 15 and was taken to the hospital for care the following Thursday.

Sallie Ownbey was born May 20, 1863, at Brevard, N. C. She attended school and grew to womanhood there. At 17 she married Marcus L. Case, Dec. 25, 1880.

The family moved from North Carolina to Arkansas in 1892 and from there came to Clarkston in 1924 where she has since made her home. Mr. Case died here April 24, 1931.

In recent years, Mrs. Case spent her summers at her home at 1014 Francis Ave., and her winters with her daughter, Mrs. Nick Holt, 837 6th St. As a young woman she became a member of the Methodist church.

Eight of Mrs. Case's 12 children survive, four daughters, Mrs. Flossie Moody, Mrs. Della McLaughlin and Mrs. Holt, all of Clarkston, and Mrs. C. C. Casey of Texarkana, Texas; and four sons, R. S. Case, Grangeville; C.L. Case, Gravette, Ark., A.E. Case, San Pablo, Calif., and O.S. Case, Richland. Other survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Clara Flechsing of Auburn, Wash., and Mrs. June Ownbey of Decatur, Ark., also 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
